Six ways to be part of Cuboree, from Cub Scouts through to our adult volunteer team.

Cub Scout

Early bird $650 $150 deposit 12 Oct to 30 Nov

A Cub Scout will be aged between 8 and 11 as of 15 April 2027 and will attend to experience the highlight of their time in the Cub Scout section.

Youth Service Leader

A Youth Service Leader (YSL) is a Scout or Venturer Scout aged 13+ as of 15 April 2027 who comes to Cuboree to lead activities and support the Cub Scouts. You will be assigned to a Directorate team, such as Program, Sites & Services or Transport & Logistics.

Leader

Leaders are Rover Scouts and adult leaders aged 18+. As a Line Leader you are appointed to a Unit by your Region Liaison Leader and spend most of your time with your Cub Scouts on the frontline. As a Service Leader you work in a Directorate team, in areas like HQ/Admin, Welfare, Logistics, Program/Activities and Security.

Adult Helper

Adult Helpers are registered adult members who help out at Cuboree. Three Adult Helpers (Unit Helpers) support each Cuboree Unit with catering, preparing and serving meals, and running the kitchen and stores.

A carer attends Cuboree to support a Cub Scout who needs a dedicated full-time carer. The need must be noted on the Cub Scout’s application and approved before the carer registers.

Day Workers are registered adult members who can’t attend the whole event but can give us one, two or three days. You choose your days when you register and work in a Directorate team while you’re on site. Lunch is provided on the days you attend.

Payment schedule

You pay a deposit when you register, then two instalments. The amounts depend on whether you registered in the early bird or regular period.

Eligibility

Who can attend as a Cub Scout?

Cub Scouts must:

  • Registered Scouts NSW member at the time of application and through until 20 April 2027.
  • Be 8 years of age and an invested Cub Scout Section member as of 1 February 2027.
  • Not have had their 12th birthday before the closing date of Cuboree, 19 April 2027.
  • Have approval from their Unit Council, Line Leader and Group Leader.
  • Have completed three (3) nights camping under canvas as a Cub Scout with the Unit at a Cub Scout camp. Two (2) of those nights must be consecutive. Sleeping in bunks or inside, and camping with family or school, does not count towards any of the nights.
  • Have attended a recognised two (2) night Pre-Cuboree camp as an invested Cub Scout.
  • Have consent from their Parent/Guardian.
  • Recommended: Milestone 1 and Stage 1 Camping achieved, and working towards Stage 2 Camping in the Achievement Pathways.
Who can attend as a Youth Service Leader (Scout)?

Scouts must:

  • Registered Scouts NSW member at the time of application and through until 20 April 2027.
  • Be an invested Scout Section member as of 1 February 2027.
  • Be at least 13 years of age at the opening date of Cuboree, 15 April 2027.
  • Have approval from their Unit Council, Line Leader and Group Leader.
  • Have consent from their Parent/Guardian.
  • Recommended: Milestone 2 and Stage 3 Camping in the Achievement Pathways.
Who can attend as a Youth Service Leader (Venturer Scout)?

Venturer Scouts must:

  • Registered Scouts NSW member at the time of application and through until 20 April 2027.
  • Be an invested Venturer Scout Section member as of 1 February 2027.
  • Have approval from their Unit Council, Line Leader and Group Leader.
  • Have consent from their Parent/Guardian.
  • Recommended: Milestone 2 and Stage 3 Camping in the Achievement Pathways.
Who can attend as a Leader (Rover Scout, Service Leader or Line Leader)?

Rover Scouts and adult Leaders (Service Leaders and Line Leaders) must:

  • Be a registered adult member of Scouts NSW at the time of application and through until 20 April 2027.
  • Have turned 18 on or before 18 March 2027 (at least four weeks before Cuboree opens on 15 April 2027), so there's time to validate their Working With Children Check and National Police Check.
  • Have completed the three (3) mandatory eLearning training modules (WHS for Scouting, Adult Code of Conduct and Child Safe Scouting) before 1 February 2027 and before attending a recognised Pre-Cuboree camp.
  • Have approval from their Team Leader and supervising Commissioner.
Who can attend as an Adult Helper?

Adult Helpers must:

  • Be a registered adult member of Scouts NSW at the time of application and through until 20 April 2027.
  • Hold a current Police Check and Working With Children Check (WWCC).
  • Have turned 18 on or before 18 March 2027 (at least four weeks before Cuboree opens on 15 April 2027), so there's time to validate their Working With Children Check and National Police Check.
  • Have completed the three (3) mandatory eLearning training modules (WHS for Scouting, Adult Code of Conduct and Child Safe Scouting) before 1 February 2027 and before attending a recognised Pre-Cuboree camp.
  • Have approval from their Team Leader, Unit Coordinator and Region Liaison Leader.
Who can attend as a Carer?

Any person attending as a carer for an attendee at Cuboree must contact cuboree@nsw.scouts.com.au before registering, as there are additional requirements to be met.

Early bird pricing applies to everyone who registers between 12pm on 12 October and midnight on 30 November 2026, for every category except Day Workers. Regular pricing applies from 1 December 2026 until registrations close at midnight on 31 January 2027. All times are Sydney time.

A deposit is paid when you register, with instalments due on 1 December 2026 and 1 February 2027 (see the payment schedule). Day Workers pay their full fee when they register. Questions about fees? Email cuboree@nsw.scouts.com.au.
